Packing Cubes

As a professional organiser and long-time advocate of keeping ‘like with like’ items together, I would always be a packing cube addict!

Packing cubes are, quite simply, a must-have in every suitcase when travelling.

Packing cubes allow you to store all clothing in a well-ordered system and prevent unnecessary chaos in the suitcase, which you don’t want when travelling.

‘Like with Like’. A system I use in every wardrobe I organise can also be used in the suitcase. With designated packing cubes for tees, jumpers, pants, coats, underwear, swimwear, and activewear, it just makes sense, and it just makes life a lot smoother and simpler when living on the go, on holidays or travelling for work.

Packing cubes enable constant organisation and ease of identifying clothing on the go. No more pulling everything out to find that one piece and repacking the whole suitcase again—it’s in its labelled packing cube.

Have I convinced you yet?

I would argue that packing cubes encourage smarter packing because each cube is consciously packed and filled with ‘like’ items, therefore at a glance identifying what is needed or what needs to be subtracted. Mindful packing before you even take off!

Everybody has their favourite packing cubes; I recently came across ‘zoomlite’ compression packing cubes coincidentally in the lead-up to our trip, so I decided to give them a go and ordered two sets of small, medium and large cubes. ( 6 in total )

I was instantly impressed with the compression compartment. You zip up the normal compartment and finish off by zipping up the compression zip, eliminating excess air. This makes the cubes as flat as possible, making the suitcase less bulky. Impressive!

What went in my packing cubes…

Just a warning. They are addictive and may encourage spontaneous travel.

Happy packing and travelling!

Hi Sarah, I became a convert to packing cubes this year. I bought the cheapest possible as I wasn’t sure they were for me. Boy, was I wrong. I will keep using my cheapies until they fall apart then invest in the compression cubes. Cheers Mx

Such great tips here Sarah, I love the use of packing cubes, I haven’t tried one with a compression compartment though, what a great idea!
