My Europe Capsule Wardrobe

I recently returned from a five-week European holiday and wanted to share how I effortlessly did it with just one suitcase and a thought-out capsule wardrobe.

First, packing cubes is the key to packing a suitcase; see the previous blog for all the tips.

Knowing that we would be away for five weeks, experiencing the heat and humidity in Singapore, the snow and chill of the French and Swiss Alps, and then back to the heat in Italy in Rome, I knew I had to pack smart. I needed a capsule wardrobe that could be mixed and matched in high and low temperatures; as a Professional Organizer, I love a challenge!

Luckily for me, I love a basic, monochromatic wardrobe, having spent the past 15 years as a Professional Organiser and organised many a client wardrobe, I have instinctively created an everyday pared-back wardrobe, and as a starting point, this is a huge advantage.

Here is an inventory of my wardrobe for 5 weeks in Europe…

As you can see, my wardrobe consisted of three colours: black, white, and beige, with one deep green raincoat. All colours complimented each other, and all items had multiple uses. They were mixed and matched, dressed up or down with sneakers or flats for dinners, museums, walking, and general comfort.

Travelling was a breeze, and I never tired of a single item because each was worn well and rotated. The secret to a great capsule wardrobe!
